My approach to trauma has two main steps: stabilization and re-processing.

In stabilization we focus on developing skills and techniques that you can use right now to begin tolerating distress and regulating your emotions. We will focus on healthy and effective responses to flashbacks, unwanted thoughts and emotions, relationship distress, and other stressors you experience.

During reprocessing we use elements of exposure therapy, during which we recall traumatic and unpleasant memories, to change the way our brain perceives past experiences. This allows us to experience the present moment and build a life we enjoy.  

 Flashbacks and unwanted distressing thoughts don’t have to be your story.
